Dear Mesquite Owners,

Just a quick update before the Annual Board Meeting this week.

Although there are no contested seats on the Board this year, one of the Directors who was elected last year, Michael Torhan, has not attended an estimated 80% of the meetings this year in person.

We endorsed Michael last year. We may endorse him again if he is able to devote more time to the job. But that includes attending Board Meetings in person rather than by speaker phone --which was what we expected him to do when we backed him for the Board last year.

Recently a motion was made and seconded to replace Mr. Torhan with another owner in the same phase-- Phase #3-- who is a long time owner, and who has recently retired. His name is Wally Rau. Mr. Rau has experience in managing common interest development associations, promised he will attend the Board Meeting in person, and we believe could be a real help to the Board.

However, the motion was denied a full vote by the Board.


We recommend that you ask the Board not to block this appointment, as it appears the President did in one of the last Board Meetings. We need to have more than one point of view on this Board. And we need Directors who will attend Board Meetings without asking for travel compensation, which unfortunately is what Mr. Torhan asked of the Board.

We urge you to write the Board today and ask for a vote on this appointment at the Annual Meeting . To insure that this issue is not deliberated in secret Executive Session, you can also email President Krubinski and tell him that you want this issue to be put on the agenda today for this week's Annual Meeting.
